Stephanie, I love your collection of stories. I have actually never heard of any of them, so it is really cool to read and learn new things. To be honest, I didn't know what I was looking at, at first. I thought I had stumbled onto the wrong page and was looking at your blog for the class. When I realized that technically, I was, but some posts had the label of "Portfolio", I became much more at ease. So, congratulations! You are actually the first Portfolio individual I have looked at so far! On to your stories. Again, I had never actually read these stories, so the originals were just as foreign to me as your own telling. However, this might have helped me some as the stories were all brand new. Also, I really like animals, so any story with animals - especially wolves - is a win with me. The only critique I really have is that I felt that the top story (Week 7, I think?) seemed rather long. Maybe it was legitimately that long, or it just kind of dragged for me. I don't know what you could do to spruce it up, though. Regardless, wonderful reads, and I can't wait to come back to these and read more later!
Also, I thank you for your comments on my storybook. I haven't added more colors yet, but I did increase the font size, and will look into possibly adding more color in the very near future.
I wanted to thank you for some great feedback you left me on a blog post. In particular, you left me a comment, on 9/13, in my storytelling post "The Journey of the Sun God." Even now, I am happy to have been able to write a story where my reader feels that it is just as good as the original. When constructing my posts I try to use pictures in certain places to support the text. You mentioned that I did a great job of this, in this particular post, and I cannot thank you enough! Hope you have a great rest of the semester!
Thanks so much for commenting as much as you have on my posts, Stephanie! I appreciate what you said about my story "The Old Man and the Demi" and I look forward to reading some of your stuff and commenting in the future.
Hi Stephanie! I'm commenting on your portfolio which I thought was great! I thought all of your stories were super interesting and creative but I think my favorite was the story about the delicate wives. It was my favorite partially because I too am obsessed with mermaids, but mainly because I thought it was so cool how you put such a spin on the original story. I love how, not only in this story, but in all of your stories, you spend a good deal of time giving details about the characters, whether it be by giving names or describing their appearance. I think this is an extremely important feature in good storytelling because, like you said, it allows for better visualization which contributes quite a bit to the story. Another thing I really like about all your stories here is the license you took telling them. I love how honest you were in basically saying "I didn't like the ending, so I changed it." That is so bold but I'm really glad you did because it enables you to really make the stories your own! I look forward to reading more of your storytelling posts because what I read here was great!
Stephanie, I just wanted to thank you for all of your kind comments on my posts throughout the semester! You are always so encouraging and it is good to know if I am communicating my ideas adequately. Thanks again!
